This is what I look like

My name is Keith Reeves, and while I’m not quite as old as the hills, I’m certainly on speaking terms with them.

My journey into making "tattooed stones" started around the turn of the century when I found myself with a bit of spare time and a garage full of potential. A friend—an artist, no less—took one look at what I was doing and said, "You know, people might actually buy those." I filed that advice away under "Things to do when I grow up," and finally took the plunge when I retired in 2016.

Setting up shop in my mother’s garage, I started crafting in earnest. My first big sale wasn't through some fancy online marketing campaign—it was to the bloke who came to paint my mum’s fence. He walked into the garage, spotted a stone, and bought it right then and there. If that’s not a ringing endorsement, I don't know what is!

Since then, my work has taken on a few different lives. I’ve carved everything from decorative flower stones to deeply personal memorial pieces. I also like to go a bit "off-piste" now and then, carving whatever catches my fancy just for the sheer joy of making it.

Lately, things have taken a delightfully weird turn. A bit of light reading into Bertrand Russell and ancient history led me down a rabbit hole of shamanic tombs, trance states, and sacred geometry. I used to wonder if God just stood on a cloud at the beginning of time demanding perpetual praise from everyone below—which struck me as a bit daft—but carving these stones has given me a whole new appreciation for how ancient people tried to connect with the cosmos.

So whether you’re looking for a unique piece of garden art, a meaningful memorial, or just want to chat about ancient shamans and garage art, you’ve come to the right place. Step right in—just mind the paint on the fence!
